A bus on its way to Bohunt School in Liphook, collided with a tree at the junction of A287 Sturt Road, and Camelsdale Road, in Haslemere, on Monday morning.
The Richardsons Travel coach driver swerved to avoid a car pulling out at about 7.40am, a company spokesman said. Luckily there were no passengers aboard and the driver escaped with minor injuries.
The spokesman said: “The driver went to avoid a car and seeing there was a child in the vehicle, swerved and in doing so hit a tree.
“He was shaken but unhurt and was back at the depot ready for work the same day.”
A bus reduced traffic to a trickle for most of Sunday after getting stuck on Grayswood’s village green for six hours.
The driver of a Stagecoach No. 70 from Midhurst to Haslemere took a wrong turn down Lower Road at 2pm and all efforts to shift the bus with both engine and muscle power failed.
Traffic was reduced to a single lane until the bus was eventually towed away at 8pm.
A Stagecoach spokesman said: “All efforts were made to recover the vehicle as quickly as possible and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
