AN IMPRESSIVE 32 good causes manned stalls at the 36th annual Haslemere Charities Fair on Saturday.
Fair founder and organiser Dianne Bennett, who also runs the Haslemere branch of Bliss, a premature babies charity, said: “We are delighted to have raised more than £5,000.
“I was very pleased that nine charities were here for the first time, including Liphook-based Dreams Come True and Roger MacDivett, who was there for Grace cancer charity and to promote prostate cancer testing.
“We had Cancer Research, which has been with us from the beginning.
“Stalls doing particularly well were Help for Tibet, which sold silk pashminas and Haslemere Quilters, who were raising money for Stepping Stones School and St Christopher’s Hospice.
“We are so grateful to the four pairs of children from Camelsdale School, who came with their headteacher Sarah Palmer.
“They welcomed visitors and asked for donations to help the charities attending, as entry is free.”
