SURREY County Council has to come up with a policy that solves Haslemere's on-street parking problems – rather than adopt a piecemeal, road-by-road approach.

That seemed to be the overriding view of residents who dropped into a public exhibition at Haslemere Hall last week over the council's residents-only permits.
