HASLEMERE mayor Cllr Simon Dear – together with town councillors Melanie Odell and David Dullaway and town clerk Lisa O’Sullivan – raised the Commonwealth flag on Commonwealth Day.

Cllr Dear said: “In this 70th year of Her Majesty’s reign we also reflect on the role service plays in enhancing the lives of people and communities across the Commonwealth.

“The Commonwealth also stands shoulder to shoulder with all civilised peoples in opposing the unwarranted aggression of Vladimir Putin against the people of Ukraine, and this flag is also a symbol of that resolve.”
