THE partner of serving Surrey Police detective Heather Cooper pleaded guilty to her murder in a hearing at Lewes Crown Court on Tuesday.
The body of the 33-year-old detective constable was found in woodland near Lurgashall, West Sussex, in the early hours of Monday, October 17, 2011.
A post mortem examination showed she died from blunt force trauma to the head and a stab wound to her neck.
On Tuesday, Peter Foster, 36, her partner and the father of her two children, admitted murdering her at the family home in West Street, Haslemere.
He was given a life sentence and will serve a minimum of 17 years in jail.
