PHYLLIS Tuckwell is on the lookout for ‘superheroes’ to join its team of volunteers who help raise millions of pounds every year through retail sales.

The Farnham-based hospice has 20 charity shops spread across Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire which all play an important role in helping raise the £20,000-plus needed every day to offer Phyllis Tuckwell’s end of life care, free of charge, to patients and their families.

These shops rely on hard-working volunteers, and Phyllis Tuckwell is appealing for new ‘super sorters’, ‘fashion finders’, ‘antique hunters’ and ‘mighty muscles’ to “pull on your cape and join the team”.

A hospice spokesman added: “Whatever your talents, Phyllis Tuckwell will help you find your strengths and develop your skills – and best of all, they can fit in with you.

“Most of the charity’s retail volunteering roles need only take a few hours of your week, so they can fit around your other commitments. They have full-time roles too though, so if you want to do more, just ask!

“They’re open on Saturdays as well as weekdays (although closed Sundays and bank holidays) so if weekends suit you better, then that works too! And in return for your superpowers, you’ll learn new skills, meet people, make friends and have a blast.”
