COSTS have been awarded against Waverley Borough Council following a successful appeal to build three detached homes on a plot in Churt Road, Hindhead.

The appeal was allowed by a Government planning inspector to build one five-bedroom house and two, three-bedroom homes, each with double garages and an extended drive after the borough council turned down the application, against the planning advice from its planning officers earlier this year.

Kevin Gleeson, the inspector allowed the planning appeal subject to a number of conditions and awarded the applicants partial costs.
