WAVERLEY Borough Council has set its council tax increase for the coming year at 2.5 per cent – its joint lowest rise in 15 years and only the second time in 15 years that the figure has been at or below the January inflation rate.
The council's budget was approved by the full council on Tuesday, setting the seal on the overall 2.5 per cent average increase once the demands of Surrey County Council, Surrey Police and town and parish councils are added in.
