A man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm following a stabbing in Haslemere last Saturday.

Charlie Pitcairn, 24, of no fixed abode, was arrested on Monday and was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article in a public place at West Sussex Remand Court on Tuesday.

He has been remanded pending his next appearance at Lewes Crown Court for sentencing on Tuesday, May 23.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital after he was stabbed in his leg at a house on Border Road at around 9.30am on April 22.

Police confirmed the victim "remains in a serious but stable condition" in a statement issued at 5pm on Monday.

A police spokesman said: "We continue to ask anyone who has dashcam or doorbell camera footage around the time of the assault, or any other information, to come forward as our enquiries are ongoing.

"If you have any information that can assist our investigation, please contact us."
