WAVERLEY’S Sport Relief fun run will relocate from Frensham Common to Broadwater Park, Farncombe, this year - taking place from 10am on March 18.
This year’s event, organised by Waverley Borough Council and Places for People, offers a choice of 1km, 3km and 6km runs, optional fitness challenges, training sessions, music, face painting, raffle and photo booth to capture those sporting memories.
Jenny Else, Waverley’s portfolio holder for health, well-being and culture, said: “Our 2016 Sport Relief event raised a whopping £10,101.54, with 360 taking part. This year we hope to smash that and help Sport Relief raise money for vulnerable people in the UK and the world’s poorest countries.
“Join our step challenge by downloading the Sport Relief App and searching for Step up Waverley. Whatever moves you, do it for Sport Relief and help change lives.”
Online registration is now open at www.waverley.gov.uk/sportrelief, with limited spaces available. Entry is £5 each for adults and £2.50 each for children (under 16). All funds being raised will go to Sport Relief.
