THE Deer’s Hut is gearing up for its 31st Classic Car Day on Sunday, June 19.

Hundreds cars will be on show at the Griggs Green pub, near Liphook, and landlady Deborah Steel, told The Herald: “Our classic car day is, open to all enthusiasts and pre-booking is not required - so just turn up on the day.

“People love to get close to and admire the wonderful cross section of cars from Bugattis and Ferraris to classic VW Campervans, old-timers and Mini Coopers and reminisce of days gone by.

“Entry is free with all donations going to local groups and charities in particular the Scouts and Guides.

“Traffic will be heavy on the Longmoor Road on the day and motorists’ patience is very much appreciated for this annual charity event.”

Other attractions include a real ale pavilion, burgers cooked by the Scouts and Guides and live music from local band Let The Good Times Roll, featuring district councillor Ferris Cowper, with vintage fairground rides provided by Hollycombe Steam Museum.

Prizes are sponsored by local estate agents Clarke Gammon Wellers for the best turned out and eye catching vehicles, which is judged by the Scouts.
