HASLEMERE Pre-School and Day Nursery celebrated its recent refurbishment with a ribbon cutting by Haslemere Mayor David Round and his wife, the mayoress Melanie Odell.
The main focus of the revamped interior is a fully equipped children’s kitchen, which was installed to teach the basic culinary skills and promote independence.
The new more inviting space also offers further play and learning facilities and children can also enjoy the great outdoors with playtime in the school garden.
After the opening, children and parents enjoyed taking part in a range of activities, including cake decoration, fruit salad making in the new children’s kitchen, and having fun with sand and water.
Emma Saunders, acting manager and designated head of safeguarding, said: “It was a great turn out and we were really pleased with how everything went.
“The children were very excited to come back on Monday and spend some time in their new room.
“We are so lucky to be here in this lovely building in College Hill.
“We are now part of Bright Horizons, which owns 300 other schools.
