Tickets are selling fast for Farnham’s Gin and Fizz Festival on Saturday, September 17 at the Kiln in Badshot Lea.

Local, national and international gin and sparkling wine producers are ready to introduce gin and fizz lovers to new and traditional ways to drink their favourite tipple.

Nibbs is a small family business in Farnham run by Richard and Nicki Sharman.

The husband-and-wife team produce two flavours of gin which were both inspired by family traditions and the Surrey countryside.

Nibbs’ elderflower gin is made using freshly-picked elderflower, lemon and lime. The speciality cocktail gin is distilled with a secret recipe of botanicals by Nibbs’ award-winning distiller.

The second flavour is the Surrey Hops gin which uses Farnham hops as a botanical.

Richard Sharman said: “We are passionate about creating wonderful things to eat and drink so the festival is the perfect opportunity for us to share that passion.

“Throughout the festival, we’ll be serving up the perfect G&T as well as Gin Fizz cocktails for guests to enjoy.

“We are really looking forward to meeting customers who are keen to try out a local product with very local flavours.”

The festival will take place across two sessions: an afternoon session from midday to 4pm and an evening session from 6pm to 10pm.

There will be live music on two stages, including an Ed Sheeran tribute act.

Councillor Kika Mirylees, lead member for tourism and events at Farnham Town Council, said: “Gin is a quintessentially British drink that never goes out of fashion and sparkling wines turn any event into a celebration.

“Pairing them together in a festival is a recipe for fun, laughter and unwinding – the perfect antidote to today’s culture of rushing around and taking life far too seriously.”

Tickets can be purchased at www.farnham.gov.uk/gin-festival. They cost £12.50 plus a booking fee and all guests will receive a souvenir glass.
