VETERAN TV newscaster and reporter Michael Nicholson, will give an illustrated presentation on 40 years as a war correspondent, later this month.

In a 40-year career with ITN he became one of the world’s most travelled and decorated foreign correspondents.

Mr Nicholson, OBE, will talk about his life at Lurgashall Village Hall, on Saturday, May 21, (7.30 for 8pm).

He has reported from 18 war zones, including Vietnam, the Falklands and Iraq.

Three times the Royal Television Society’s “Journalist of the Year”, he received British TV}s most prestigious BAFTA award for his reports from the Falklands War.

He was also awarded the Falklands and Gulf Campaign medals.
