After 13 years at the helm, Valerie Hoppé – the founder director of Farnham Voices Together Community Choir – is to retire after its summer concert on July 1.

As a result, the choir is now actively seeking to appoint a new musical director, to start in September 2023.

Under Valerie’s inspiring leadership, Voices Together has grown from small beginnings to a well-established 80-strong mixed voice choir and it is looking for her successor to build on this impressive achievement.

For further information about the choir, anyone interested should visit the website or email [email protected]

The closing date for applications is February 24.

A spokesperson said: “We are a friendly community choir formed in 2010, welcoming members from the local community of all ages and abilities to sing together for fun. We sing a wide variety of music including choral music, songs from shows and popular music. You don’t need to be able to read music, just have a passion for singing.

“We participate in our own Christmas and summer concerts, as well as occasional concerts and charitable events with other choirs and musicians.”

Wednesday evening rehearsals have begun for the summer concert and new members are always welcome. For details visit https://farnhamvoicestogether.uk/
