THE FINAL Troy-related event has been held at Haslemere Educational Museum.

As the Troy: Beauty and Heroism British Museum Spotlight Loan Exhibition draws to a close, members and friends of the museum enjoyed an evening with mother and son duo Melissa and Harvey King.

Melissa – owner of Marley Flowers in Haslemere – entranced the audience with flower arrangements featuring flowers connected to mythology.

Six very different and beautiful arrangements were later raffled.

As Melissa performed her magic with gladioli, anemone, roses and hyacinths to name but a few, Harvey – who is studying classics – related the mythical and sometimes gruesome stories associated with these and other flowers.

Haslemere Educational Museum chairman, Councillor Melanie Odell, thanked Melissa and Harvey for imparting their knowledge, skills and experience in such an informative way.
