RIB-tickling was the order of the dayas the town lifted the lid its very first Haslemere Comedy Festival.
Organised by the Haslemere Fringe, 38 comedians descended on the town to try out the laughs and preview their Edinburgh Fringe acts.
Taking place in seven places around the town as well as the more traditional entertainment venues of Haslewey, Haslemere Hall and Haslemere Museum, the business community responded by opening up its premises to the event.
Among those who received special thanks were the owners and managers of Headcase, Station House and ST Engineering.
Children were also tickled pink with special entertainment for them too at Dylan’s Milk Barn in Junction Place.
Community volunteer Ken Griffiths who organised the event said: “The concept of putting concurrent entertainment over several different venues within a town, is probably new to Haslemere, but it is becoming an established format in the Festival world and I feel sure that we will see its return to Haslemere in future years.”
Next summer sees the full return of the Haslemere Fringe, including comedy, plus all other art forms on Lion Green.
