A STRAY cat is recovering at Cats Protection charity’s Haslemere adoption centre after being found living on the streets in severe pain from infected ears.
The tabby puss, named Bill by staff, was handed into the charity by a concerned animal lover in September.
Bill, who is aged around six years, had severe infections in both ears, as well as a benign polyp – a non-cancerous growth – in one ear, causing him serious discomfort.
Bill’s veterinary treatment has cost £800 and staff have launched a fundraising appeal to help care for him while he continues his recovery.
Haslemere deputy manager Sian Crosbie said: “Bill is such a lovely cat and has been through so much.
“Living on the streets is hard enough, but the infections and polyp would have also left Bill in great deal of pain, so he’s really had a tough time.
“Bill deserves a second chance in life, but his treatment does of course come at a cost. We’re hoping other cat lovers will help by donating a small amount to our appeal to help towards the cost of Bill’s care.”

Any funds raised above the total of Bill’s care will help care for the 57 other cats under the centre’s care.
