Platinum-selling 80s chart mainstays, Haircut 100, are joining the music line-up of the Haslemere Fringe Festival, in the heart of Haslemere. The band will be hitting the stage at Lion Green on Saturday, July 6.

Formed in London’s Beckenham and featuring vocalist and guitarist Nick Heyward, the band is best known for their top ten singles Fantastic Day, Nobody’s Fool, Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl), and Love Plus One. In the early 80s, Haircut 100 went from being London underground darlings to chart sensations in less than six months. Then, within a year, they disappeared into the pop music ether, leaving behind one truly memorable album Pelican West.

Over 40 years on, they performed at the BBC Radio 2 Piano Room in 2023 and released a bonus version of that iconic album. To bring the album to life, the band performed a one-off live reunion show at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire. It was a total sell-out, prompting a full UK tour.

Festival Coordinator, Paul Ashton said: “I’m sure that music geeks like me, and anyone who remembers Haircut 100 from the eighties will be super excited to see them back performing. We’re delighted to be able to welcome them to the 2024 Haslemere Fringe.”

They join headliners Blue, Callum Beattie and T’Pau but with further artists and Saturday’s headliners still to be announced soon, follow Haslemere Fringe on social media to keep up-to-date. Buy your day or weekend tickets online now at www.haslemerefringe.co.uk
