HASLEMERE mayor Cllr Simon Dear was one of about 150 men who had their blood taken for a Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test in the town.

The PSA testing – which took place at Haslemere Comrades Club in the morning on Saturday, February 5 – was screening for prostate cancer.

The event involved a number of volunteers, and free sandwiches were provided for those who attended and took the test.

The comrades club hopes to be able to offer another PSA testing day for the community in September.
