HASLEMERE Hall is “absolutely delighted” to be reopening for cinema and live events following the latest lifting of Covid restrictions.

As with so many live performance venues across the country, the past year has been extremely challenging for the hall which is such an iconic part of Haslemere’s community.

To raise much-needed funds, one of the first live performances in June will be a variety show aptly titled Just What the Doctor Ordered.

Performed by the Haslemere Thespians, the evening will be full of laughter and silliness with a smattering of topical adult humour.

Howard Bicknell, manager of Haslemere Hall, said: “We are absolutely delighted that theatres and cinemas have been able to reopen.

“To ensure we do everything correctly to keep people safe, the hall is set out to follow social- distancing rules and they remain in place while we have live theatre starting at the end of May, with films being added to the mix in June.

“It is brilliant to have live theatre back and we are so grateful to the Thespians for making sure Just What the Doctor Ordered happens as well as the hall benefiting from this show.”

The Thespians are delighted to be joined on stage for a very special performance by five brave gentlemen from Haslemere Players who will be reprising the finale of their hit musical The Full Monty.

Will they or won’t they go the full monty, though? You will have to buy a ticket and go along to find out!

There will be three performances on June 17, 18 and 19, and all profits will go direct to Haslemere Hall.
