THE luck of the Irish could help fund a much-needed defibrillator of the village of Henley near Fernhurst.
Three local residents have suffered heart attacks in recent years and Simon Goodman (pictured) award-winning proprietor of village pub The Duke of Cumberland is hosting a fundraising event on St Patrick’s Day – Friday March 17 – in association with Heartsafe and Easebourne Parish Council.
Pubgoers will be treated to Irish stew and an oyster bar as well as other foodie treats from 7pm onwards and live music will be provided by Irish band – The Free Radicals – from 8pm.
There will also be a raffle with all proceeds from the raffle and meals donated towards the cost of a defibrillator.
No booking is necessary and food will be available on a first come first serve basis.
