NEWLY-refurbished Haslemere Hospital is set to get a state-of-the-art expanded outpatients centre if new plans in the pipeline get the green light. A concept sketch drawn up by Haslemere architect Paul Sutton for a bigger and better modular building to replace the current cramped facilities was unveiled at the annual general meeting of Haslemere League of Friends last Wednesday and is now on display at the hospital. Hailing the plan as an "exciting opportunity", League of Friends chairman Rose Parry made it clear the upgrade was vital in order to secure the future of the community hospital. The push to expand its medical services was triggered by patient and carer feedback highlighting outpatient appointments being made in Guildford at the Royal Surrey County Hospital rather than Haslemere.
