SHOTTERMILL Infant School's summer fair had an Alice in Wonderland theme, with many of the children, staff and parents dressed up for the occasion. The school was decorated with pocket watches, fairy cakes and images from the story while themed stalls included 'What Time is the Mad Hatter's Tea Party?', 'The Eat Me Cake Stall', 'Where's Alice?' and the 'Drink Me' refreshment stall. The chocolate tombola, bottle stall, barbecue and games for the children also helped to ensure a good crowd, despite heavy rain showers. Headteacher Jilly Storey, aka the Mad Hatter, said: "It was lovely for our whole school community to spend time together having lots of fun." Parents donated raffle prizes including a 39-inch flat screen TV, a pressure washer, cash and cosmetics. Mrs Storey thanked myriad businesses too, with prizes donated by The White Horse, Cook, Between the Lines, Arnold's Garage, The Georgian, Ballard's Brewery, Dylan's ice cream, Vanessa Hairdressing, Holly Park, Grayswood Cars, Chamberlain's Music Shop, Bird World, The Art Department, and The Hogs Back Brewery.
