MORE than 700 cyclists hit the saddle for the Haslemere Festival’s Little Lumpy ride last month, raising money for Haslemere’s Citizens’ Advice Bureau.

They presented the branch – part of Citizens’ Advice Waverley with a cheque for £4,200 last week, having provided 26 volunteers to help the riders, producing and distributing the 4,000 home-baked treats to riders for which the Little Lumpy is famous.

Fringe Festival chairman Ken Griffiths, who organises Little Lumpy, said: “The Citizens’ Advice volunteers can feel proud of contributing to such a fantastic day.

“We could not of wished for more from the CAB?team – they were all fantastic.

The funds raised from this year’s event will help CAB? provide free, confidential, independent and impartial advice on all manner of issues from debt and welfare benefits to unemployment, homelessness and housing – as well as other family and personal issues.
