LUKE van Oudtshoorn came second at the South of England cross-country champs at Parliament Hill, last month.

Luke, who ran the Under 15 boys’ race, lives in Headley Down and is a year 10 pupil at St Edmund’s School, in Hindhead.

He runs for Aldershot, Farnham and District Athletics Club and swims for Haslemere Swimming Club - and is also a keen triathlete.

In the 10 team races AFD AC had four golds, three silvers, a fourth and a sixth place. There were also seven individual medalists at the championships organised by the South East Athletics Association.

The national 2017 Saucony Cross Country Championships take place at Wollaton Park, in Nottingham, on Saturday, February 25.
