A man aged 26 has died five days after flipping his car on the A31 near Alton.

The driver, from Eastleigh, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after the accident at 11.21am on Saturday, October 28. Police have since confirmed he died on Thursday, November 2.

He was driving a black Seat Leon when he lost control between the Chawton roundabout and the A339 Selborne Road junction on the eastbound carriageway.

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance landed in a nearby field and police confirmed a man in his 20s was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

It is understood he was transported by air. A motorcyclist was reportedly first on the scene, and called the emergency services.
