A COMMUTER was the victim of a 'car jacking' when two masked men seized his car in Haslemere last week.
Both of the men were wearing balaclavas and one was carrying a concealed object which the victim described as looking like the barrel of a handgun.
The BMW owner was forced to move onto the passenger side before being allowed out as the car sped off.
The victim was returning from Haslemere station to his black BMW 320 estate, which was parked on Derby Road, some time between 7.15pm and 7.40pm on Wednesday, November 5.
As he went to start the engine he was approached by a man wearing a balaclava, who ordered him to move over to the passenger side. The robber then got into the driver's seat and a second man, also wearing a balaclava, got into the back of the car behind the victim.
The man in the driver's seat started the engine and made a three-point-turn in the road before allowing the victim to get out of the car at the junction of Derby Road and Tanners Lane.
The pair then drove away in the BMW in an unknown direction.
The first suspect is described as white, around 5'10', of medium build and wearing a dark coloured waist-length bomber style jacket.
The second suspect is described as being of a similar height and build, possibly slightly shorter than the other man and was also wearing a dark coloured jacket.
DC Dave Pellatt of Farnham CID said: "We are working hard to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and will do everything possible to catch the offenders and bring them to justice. Thankfully this type of crime is extremely rare.
"The incident took place near to the town's railway station, so there may have been commuters in the area who saw the black BMW being driven in a suspicious or eratic manner."
