IT was cheers all round at the launch party to celebrate the reopening of The Mill Tavern in Shottermill, last Thursday.
The pub was put up for sale earlier this year by Punch Taverns and snapped up by award-winning regional brewery Wadworth, famous for its 6X beer, in July. The new ownders carried out a major refurbishment adding more seating.
Wadworth chief executive Chris Welham was special guest at last week’s celebrations, which attracted a huge crowd of delighted residents.
Manager Eddie Pede said. “The opening went amazingly well. It was overwhelming.
“It seemed as if everyone in Haslemere had been waiting for it. We were packed to the rafters and it’s been non-stop since. Everyone had a glass of prosecco to start and we served canapés that were mini-versions of our hamburgers, fish and chips and desserts.
“Guests also tried our real ales, wines and beers.”
