WHITEHILL & Bordon Community Party leader Andy Tree edged out his Conservative rival Phillip Davies to win the town’s county seat by more than 900 votes on Friday.
But it was otherwise a clean-sweep for the Tories across East Hampshire, as the party held Alton Town, Alton Rural, Liphook, Headley & Grayshott, Petersfield Butser, Petersfield Hangers, and Catherington.
It comes as all of the 78 seats at the county council are up for grabs as county-wide elections are held every four years.
The picture across Hampshire as a whole is still unclear, however, with Winchester City Council forced to postpone its count until Saturday following a fire alarm at River Park Leisure Centre.
