RECORD numbers of real-ale drinkers descended on Haslemere Hall on Friday and Saturday to enjoy the town's eighth beer festival – almost 1,000 attended over the weekend with visitors from far and wide including the United States, Brazil, Canada and Europe. Organising chairman Simon Labrow said Haslemere was now firmly established as a leading beer festival for real ale enthusiasts and music lovers. More than 50 real ales, ciders and perries selected by Jay Seldon and local food cooked by Guy Davenport yet again proved a winning formula.
