RIDERS came from across the south met for the fourth running of the Bognor Cycle Club’s ‘Colonel’s Trial’ in memory of Adrian aka Adder Brown from Midhurst.
The event course winds its way through Verdley Woods, Fernhurst, courtesy of Lord Cowdray.
It saw riders of all ages, drawn from from Exeter to Milton Keynes to Peacehaven, eager to test their skills on the three-lap, 12-section course set by James Gammon and Kerry Hill.
It twisted its way along forest tracks, muddy tracks, stony tracks and a variety of deep ditches - some flowing with water.
It all becoming increasingly slippery and difficult to negotiate through standing and fallen trees, with scores ranging from an impressive 12 to 100.
Money raised raised goes to Macmillan Cancer Care.
In Canada a similar motorcycle trial was staged by the club that Adder belonged to when he lived there raising money for a children’s cancer charity in British Columbia.
