CAMELSDALE Primary School is now watertight after major roofing works funded by West Sussex County Council. The school was delighted this also included a full restoration of the original 1904 weather vane.
Headteacher Sarah Palmer said: “Camelsdale is the oldest county council school in West Sussex. We are thrilled this original feature has been beautifully restored for generations to come.
“This includes the replacement of a missing ‘north’ and stunning gold gilding. A huge thank-you goes to everyone involved.
“We are very proud of our school and we now feel we have our crown back on top!”
