BACK by popular deman, last Saturday’s ChiddFest 2019 was a huge success and raised even more than the £23,000 netted two years ago.
The proceeds of the biennial family event launched in 2015 go primarily to St Mary’s School, but also village youth activities.
Topping the bill were local group Crowd Pleasers and Haslemere’s Street Nation Dance School was also a hit.
Co-organiser Rebecca Morris said: “The weather stayed fair and all the performers did a fantastic job.
“St Mary’s pupils did a heart-warming rendition of A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman. This was followed by a fantastic performance from the teachers who sang Jackie Wilson’s hit, Higher and Higher, which was arranged by and rehearsed with Kate Lidbetter of The Music Works.
“Headline act, The Crowd Pleasers, lived up to their name. Much of the crowd were on their feet dancing and singing along.”
The final amount raised is still to be announced officially.
