Another memorial bench has been vandalised at Liphook Recreation Ground, with football nets also damaged.

Mark Culverhouse, chairman of Liphook United FC, said: “The unsociable behaviour is getting out of hand.

“This is the second bench this year to be vandalised. The other one was the previous chairman’s bench.

“The club did a fundraiser and the children raised more than £800 to replace the £500 bench, with the rest then donated to the Heart Foundation in Nigel’s name.

“We’ve had kids constantly climbing on the clubhouse roof, and smashed roof tiles.

“We’ve just spent £5,400 on new dugouts because the last ones have been vandalised. The rec now needs to be patrolled by the police each night, or CCTV installed.”

Bramshott & Liphook Parish Council said in a statement: “We were very disappointed to see another of our memorial benches was vandalised over the weekend. We are contacting the organisation who placed this memorial bench some years ago to tell them what has happened.”

Contact the parish or the police on 101 with information.
