BAT Boy and Super Girl were just some of the action hero-style babies, who raised more than £800 for Tommy’s baby charity at a ‘sensathon’, in Grayshott.

More than 130 babies who go to the Baby Sensory Barn development classes at Applegarth Farm, arrived dressed up as superheroes for the sponsored sensathon to fund vital research into stillbirth, premature birth and miscarriage.

They joined Baby Sensory development classes nationwide, in a bid to raise £375,000 to help finance Tommy’s four research centres.

Baby Sensory Barn owner Angela Kennedy said: “The babies looked absolutely adorable, dressed up as Bat Boy, Super Girl, Captain America, Super Baby among others. The parents really embraced the event with lots of enthusiasm and very generous donations. So far, we have raised £860 for Tommy’s.

“Everyone was very enthusiastic about their baby participating in their first charity event.

“We are so blessed to have our babies, and we wanted to help more families realise their dream of having a baby,” Angela added.

Tommy’s chief executive Jane Brewin said:“Sensathon is a great way for mums and dads to involve their little ones in a good cause. Tommy’s relies on the generosity and hard work of its supporters to continue its pioneering research to prevent pregnancy complications.”
