AUTHOR David Fuller spent a day with the junior children at Camelsdale Primary School during a busy Book Week schedule.

David talked about his passion for books and reading and the children enjoyed his tales as he told of his journey to become an author and the importance of reading, not only at school but at home.

During the week, the many activities included a Monday morning brioche breakfast and reading session, a tea party for grandparents, poetry recitals, Roald Dahl drama workshops and the book fair was open every day after school.

Haslemere Book Shop staff read stories to the infant classes and the town’s Henry Adams estate agents ran a competition to design some bunting - there were some creative, colourful entries complete with riddles and reviews.

The week culminated with Character Day, with children arriving at school dressed as their favourite book character in a colourful array of costumes.
