HASLEMERE Mayor David Round swung into action at Hindhead Golf Club to raise an impressive £3,500 for his nominated charities.

The charity golf day he hosted was in aid of Project Horizon at Haslemere Museum for children on the autistic spectrum, and The Haslemere Penny Ha’Penny Trust.

Despite rainy weather last Thursday (April 4), many of the 60 players completed the course.

Everyone then enjoyed a splendid lunch provided by the club, followed by a silent auction and prize giving.

The first prize went to Avansa Ltd.

Mr Round said: “I would like to thank Councillor Malcolm Carter for organising the event and all those who participated and donated prizes. We are most grateful to Hindhead Golf Club and to Investec for sponsoring the event.”
