LEADING environmental groups are at loggerheads over whether building thousands of new homes at Dunsfold Park is the best way forward.
Waverley's public consultation proposing four housing scenarios on where to build 8,450 new homes by 2031, attracted 4,255 responses and an overwhelming 83 per cent preferred scenario 4, which proposes building 3,400 houses at the airfield.
Some respondees went further and suggested building a larger settlement at Dunsfold Park to minimise building elsewhere across the borough.
