A MAGNUM opus on Haslemere that has been two years in the making has just been published.
Town mayor Cyndy Lancaster, who helped draw up the Haslemere Design Statement, officially launched the finished work at a special ceremony in the town hall last Wednesday.
She was one of a team of eight steering group members who worked together to produce the highly detailed, lavishly illustrated 64-page document that will be referenced by Waverley Borough Council as a "material consideration" when determining panning applications for the Haslemere area.
Extensive public consultations were held to help the steering group finalise the document and they took into account more than 4,400 feedback comments.
