HASLEMERE traders are blaming a drop in sales on lengthy gas works road closures and have renewed their appeal to Waverley Borough Council for more support.
They say the closure of Lower Street for essential gas main work – which will last into August – is having a severe impact on trade.
It has exacerbated the impact of a rise in car park charges, which the borough council imposed in February.
