ALDERSHOT, Farnham & District runner Charlotte Purdue finished second fastest British woman in the London Marathon.

With Joe Pavey dropping out after 16 miles with cramp attacks, Alyson Dixon was first woman home for the UK with a time of 2-29-06. Purdue followed, 17 seconds behind, in 2-29-23.

Both qualify for the World Championships.
