CENTRAL A confirmed themselves as Aldershot Table Tennis League champions in emphatic style by whitewashing Ash B 10-0.

Phil Snelson, Paul Baker and Peter Millard were the all-conquering trio as Central maintained their unbeaten record in Division One. The result condemned Ash to relegation.

Runners-up Bentley A completed their campaign with just two players, but still edged past Central B by 6-4. Graham Diplock won all three matches, supported by Micky Lang’s double.

Frimley B clinched the Division Two title with a resounding 9-1 win against close rivals Old Woking. David Mackinnon and Clive Welsman won all their singles against two-man opponents.

In the battle for second spot, Ash C whitewashed Tennis E, with Frank Winnard, Nigel Tustin and Chris Carter claiming all the points.

Braybrooke B condemned Tennis D to relegation with a 7-3 victory. Yizhong Wei was undefeated for Braybrooke and Mark Armstrong won twice. Stuart Middlemiss took two for Tennis.

Tennis G beat Crawley Ridge A 8-2 to ensure the Division Three crown. Mehrdad Abutalebi won all three for Tennis and Peter Bone and Michael Wolfe bagged braces, both losing to Yuriy Schulzhenko.

Crawley Ridge B will finish second after defeating Ash D 6-4. Jo Bartlett was unbeaten for the losers, with David Skellern and Steve Bridle taking two each for Crawley.

Tennis F have a chance of avoiding relegation after an emphatic 8-2 win over Cody D. Tushar Vaja led the way with a maximum. Charles Burton and David Lewis backed him up with doubles, both succumbing to Cody’s John Sheehy.

Fleet B lost 7-3 to Crawley Ridge A. Phil Garrett was unbeaten for the winners and team-mates Russell Gibbs and Corin Moore both won twice.

Division Four champions Crawley Ridge C signed off with a 10-0 win over basement side Cody F. Richard Hornby, Mark Stephenson and Yuriy Schulzhenko are likely to meet tougher opposition in the higher division.

Tennis J beat Ash F 7-3. Tennis players, Graham Dorey, Jo Sparkes and Ken Lewington all won twice, all losing to Graham Thomas of Ash.

Tennis H completed their season with a 6-4 victory over Fleet C. Alan Yeung was unbeaten for the losers, but doubles for John Page and John Davis decided the match.
