BROOK and Fernhurst are neck-and-neck at the top of I’Anson Division Two, both having won their first three matches.

Brook posted 238-7 (Toby Pheasant 82, Robin Hudson 50) against Thursley and then Jonathan King took 4-46 as the visitors crumbled to 124 all out.

‘Extras’ was comfortably top scorer for a depleted Elstead side who were bowled out for 149 by Fernhurst. Mike Allen, short of runs by his standards, made up for lost time with 63 not out and after a mini collapse to Moisin (4-31), Tristan Rissik and Allen saw Fernhurst home by four wickets.

Ten-man Hindhead elected to bat at Harting, but their innings followed a sadly familiar pattern. Opener Joe Harrison (37) was once again the mainstay, but the visitors were bowled out for 119 in just 40 overs, with Simon Kyte taking 4-17. Rob Norris (33), Terry Wadey (32 not out) and Andy Wadey (23 not out) saw their side to a comfortable victory after just 24.4 overs.

Shalford’s top three were again full of runs, Bryan Winson leading the way with 66. But Mark Budd (4-26) and Joe Morse bowled fine spells for The Bourne and the visitors were restricted to 182-7. Bourne, after a decent start, were in a bit of trouble against Marc Callcutt, but Morse (63 not out) and Dave Stone (51 not out) came together in an excellent partnership and saw their side home with nine overs to spare.

A total of 220-8 by Grayshott II held no fears for Tongham who scored consistently down the order and, although losing eight wickets, won the game with two overs to spare. Cameron Clarke made a fine 76 for Grayshott, while Adam Farrier led Tongham’s reply with 57.

Conditions were good for batting at Badshot Lea and Martin Breddy and Freddie Leighton both reached 50 as Frensham II set a target of 202-8. Badshot Lea’s top order were comfortably in control in reply. Jack Blythe and Joe Toft eventually removed the top three, but that only brought together Raziq Khan (55 not out) and Max Morris (50 not out) and their undefeated partnership clinched victory in the 41st over.
