Headley Cricket Club are launching their new women’s section with a softball cricket session at the Bordon & Oakhanger Sports Club (BOSC) at 3pm on Sunday, April 23.

All women players are welcome to attend – no matter what level or experience they have – as a fun session will be led by coaches from the Hampshire Cricket Board.

Headley Hens have been formed to provide the opportunity for women to play softball cricket for the purposes of exercise, fun and development of the players and Headley Cricket Club (HCC).

Now in their 151st year, HCC are keen that women’s cricket becomes a key part of the club alongside its thriving senior and youth sections. The Headley Hens held a taster session in 2022.

Training – supported by the club’s overseas player – will be held every Monday at 6pm at BOSC from May 15, and there are friendly matches arranged with other local teams throughout the summer to give the players a chance to test their skills.

All equipment will be provided and members will receive a Headley Hens training shirt and ten per cent discount card for food and drink at BOSC. Anyone who is keen to play women’s cricket should email [email protected] for further details.
