HOME-GROWN leg-spinner Jack Myers has pulled up his Alton roots to join Surrey Championship club Dorking, a move which coincides with a job switch to Reigate.
Myers took 122 Southern Premier League wickets for the Brewers in 108 appearances, with a league best return of 6-32 against Burridge last summer.
“Jack is living in Reigate now because of his job and will be heading up the coaching side of things at Dorking,” explained older brother Scott Myers, the long-serving Alton 1st XI?captain.
Dorking were relegated from the Surrey Championship Division Two last season
Alton, meanwhile, are lining up an as yet unnamed South African provincial cricketer as their overseas player for 2018.
“We’re very excited about this guy based on his current season with his province,” said Myers, who is waiting for the player to have his visa application approved.
Alton have arranged pre-season matches in April away to Three Bridges and Ifield before hosting Burridge. Their ECB Southern Premier League programme begins against Bashley (Rydal) at the Jubilee Ground on Saturday, May 5.
