THE gulf between top and bottom looked wide indeed as Surrey Championship Division Four leaders Churt crushed basement team Weybridge Vandals by nine wickets.
Vandals, inserted by Dan Higgins at the Rec, were on the retreat from the moment Oli Plaistowe bowled Sam Buckell.
Opener Connor Baker did his best to steer the visitors to a decent total and grafted his way to 39 before being ninth man out – run out by Rowley Marshall.
Plaistowe, Robbie Chhabra and Marshall each took three wickets and Weybridge were dismissed for a meagre 85 in the 39th over.
Churt needed 13 overs to get the runs. Ben Mitchell hit eight fours and a six while racing to 41 out of an opening partnership of 59 with Will Hucker.
Toby?Finneran and Hucker completed the formalities for Churt who will expect a sterner test at Old Hamptonians this weekend.
