FARNHAM RUNNERS’ popular Get Me Started course is set to return.

The course – which has been developed by England Athletics – is suitable for complete beginners and anyone wishing to return to running after injury or illness.

The nine-week course begins on April 27.

The club’s Linda Tyler said: “We will be offering two sessions each week, at our clubhouse on the Bourne Green on Wednesday evenings and at parkrun on Saturday mornings.

“Runners will be led by qualified coaches and leaders who will guide them around the beautiful Bourne Woods and Alice Holt Forest, offering advice on running techniques as they help improve running skills.

“Each session will start with a warm-up, and will then follow a structured, progressive run-walking programme before finishing with cool-down stretches.

“Farnham Runners are a friendly and inclusive club and we will actively support people as they begin their running journey with us.”

Sarah, one of last year’s beginners, is still a member of the club and said: “I want to thank the coaches and all the helpers for making the Get Me Started course such a success.

“Without it I would never have run again.

“I now have so much confidence in my ability and the support from the club has been fantastic. I’m so pleased to be part of it.”
