FARNHAM TOWN face a tough run of fixtures against the sides chasing promotion – and manager Toby Reid has roared: We’re not scared of anyone.

Town have produced a magnificent run of results since Reid took over from Colin Millard and injected the team with new faces.

They moved into the top half of the Combined Counties Premier Division South table with a 4-0 win at Fleet Town – their first clean sheet since the start of October – and this weekend face their toughest challenge under the new boss with a trip to title favourites Jersey Bulls.

They then also face matches against Sheeerwater, Beckenham, Walton & Hersham and Raynes Park Vale.

“It’s music to my ears – I love the idea of playing all the top teams,” said Reid.

“The aim when I came was to get the side winning again. I’m not getting carried away – I wanted to set the tone that we are no pushovers.

“We are doing that and people are paying attention to what we are doing.

“I have a plan and I have an aim and I’m going to see it through.

“This run may show where we are as a team, but I think everyone is already seeing developments in the way we play football and the quality of players who have come in.

“We have managed to turn things around quickly thanks to the kind of players I’ve been able to bring in – they know me and I know them and what they can bring to the team.

“Going to some of these clubs at the top of the table with the aim of causing an upset will be new to some of the players here, but we have others who are used to that kind of pressure and will relish the challenge.

“For some it will be a test to see where they are at individually with their mindset and technical ability, but they are all buying into my philosophy – I have changed their mentality into a winning one and it’ll be a good test.

“We will go out with a plan. Some may think that a trip to Jersey is a weekend away and it’s a drink-up – but no, it’s business first before pleasure.

“We don’t fear anyone in this league. Some may think I’m arrogant when I say that, but I’m just confident.

“When the players see that confidence in me, they feel confidence, too. They’re going out there and taking chances and that’s what I want them to do – I have not restricted them in any way at all in showing their ability.”

Town travel to Jersey today (Saturday) and the week after are on their travels again, to Balham in the league, before entertaining Rayners Lane in the Cherry Red Premier Challenge Cup on Tuesday, February 1.

Town took the lead after eight minutes at Fleet when Olly Ryman nodded home a cross from Josh Ogunseye, and keeper Gary Ross kept the lead intact by saving a penalty.

Ogunseye scored the second from the penalty spot, skipper Greg Haydon fired home the third and man-of-the-match Max Blackmore put Ogunseye through for the fourth.
