FARNHAM TOWN 0, CB HOUNSLOW 1

A DEEPLY frustrating result for Farnham after their good performancs of late.

Struggling CB Hounslow seemed there for the taking at the Memorial Ground, but Town paid the price for one of their worst 45 minutes this season in the Combined Counties League.

“We had prepared the right way and looked like we wanted to get the right result, but the energy levels were poor and our approach was poor,” said manager Paul Tanner. “I have actually seen us play better in a heavy defeat.”

Hounslow were certainly better than their 20th position suggested, but Town allowed them to dominate all areas in the first half and the visitors could easily been four up at the interval.

After Jordan Ireland had put them in front after six minutes, Hounslow hit both post and crossbar and forced some excellent saves from Richard Ossai.

“To say there were some harsh words at half-time would be an understatement,” continued Tanner. “The second half was better, but better is not even okay after that first-half showing.”

Later in the game, Farnham made some decent opportunities for shooting from the edge of the area, but there was never a clear-cut chance to draw level.

Hounslow thoroughly deserved the win which puts them in a strong position to stay up.

Farnham are home again this Saturday and the fiery Tanner will expect a marked improvement against Horley Town.
